Hi Guys, Welcome to Little Penguin
I'm Simone here on Neocities you know me as S1M0N3 with my first Website dedicated mainly to Retrogaming, I'm a guy who loves music, video games and IT.
Before you start looking at this site, there is one thing you cybernaut friends need to know.
I decided to create this web space to dedicate it to those approaching Linux and its Best lightweight distros for the first time. I wrote it to try to communicate what my experiences are, both positive and negative ones.
When you hear about Linux, for many it is automatic to think of an operating system capable of starting on fairly dated hardware: before obtaining the success (both in the desktop and server fields) that it still has today, users used to resort to this family of operating systems to bring back to life computers that are no longer snappy and that, otherwise, would have ended up straight in some dusty cellar.
I have tried to collect all the information that Linux enthusiasts tend to overlook and, in the end, the user is forced to discover not always that a nice distribution is really suitable for an old laptop, or a new one but with poor performance. I personally have always preferred to orient myself on light Linux distributions even when I had more performing computers with relatively robust specifications in order to make the most of the work power. I get queasy around systems that use around 1GB RAM or more to run at idle.
